Mid-Michigan Region -- the best of both worlds

Rolling hills of green and vast corn fields adorned with red barns are complemented by urban shopping, theatres and entertainment.  Mid-Michigan can suit just about any lifestyle.

Michigan's Capitol

In the heart of Mid-Michigan is Lansing, the Capital City.  Lansing’s downtown area is dominated by state government buildings including the State Capitol.  The Downtown is undergoing a revitalization and experiencing significant growth.  Restaurants, retail stores and residential developments have made downtown Lansing a hot spot.  The Lansing City Market, one of the oldest operating farm markets in the United States, is located in downtown Lansing.  Located north of downtown is historic Old Town.  With its beautiful buildings and artsy feel, Old Town is the perfect location for the annual Jazz Festival and Blues Festival.  Lansing also has an active Performing Arts community and a wide range of entertainment options, including the Lansing Lugnuts.

Beaumont Tower at Michigan State University

Just to the east of the Capitol City is East Lansing.  East Lansing is home to Michigan State University (MSU), known as the pioneer land grant college.  MSU is the only university in the United States with three medical schools – Colleges of Human Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine.  Residents with an interest in academics would be well suited for training in the Mid-Michigan region. Area residencies are either sponsored by MSU or have MSU faculty filling the role of key faculty. Residents in our region develop close relationships with the academic departments, faculty, and researchers.
